【摘要】:SoundtransmissionlossasdefinedinTerminologyC634,referstotheresponseofspecimensexposedtoadiffuseincidentsoundfield,andthisisthetestconditionapproachedbythislaboratorytestmethod.Thetestresultsarethereforemostdirectlyrelevanttotheperformanceofsimilarspecimensexposedtosimilarsoundfields.Theyprovide,however,ausefulgeneralmeasureofperformanceforthevarietyofsoundfieldstowhichapartitionorelementmaytypicallybeexposed.Inlaboratoriesdesignedtosatisfytherequirementsofthistestmethod,theintentisthatonlysignificantpathforsoundtransmissionbetweentheroomsisthroughthetestspecimen.Thisisnotgenerallythecaseinbuildingswherethereareoftenmanyotherpathsforsoundsx2014;flankingsoundtransmission.Consequentlysoundratingsobtainedusingthistestmethoddonotrelatedirectlytosoundisolationinbuildings;theyrepresentanupperlimittowhatwouldbemeasuredinafieldtest.Thistestmethodisnotintendedforfieldtests.FieldtestsshallbeperformedaccordingtoTestMethodE336.Note28212;ThecomparablequantitymeasuredusingTestMethodE336iscalledtheapparentsoundtransmissionlossbecauseofthepresenceofflankingsoundtransmission.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthelaboratorymeasurementofairbornesoundtransmissionlossofbuildingpartitionssuchaswallsofallkinds,operablepartitions,floor-ceilingassemblies,doors,windows,roofs,panels,andotherspace-dividingelements.1.2Laboratoriesaredesignedsothetestspecimenconstitutestheprimarysoundtransmissionpathbetweenthetwotestroomsandsoapproximatelydiffusesoundfieldsexistintherooms.1.3LaboratoryAccreditation8212;TherequirementsforaccreditingalaboratoryforperformingthistestmethodaregiveninAnnexA4.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
