【摘要】:ThisterminologystandardcontainsdefinitionsofappearancetermsapplicabletotheworkofmanyASTMtechnicalcommittees.ItsusebycommitteesotherthanCommitteeE12onColorandAppearance,anditscitationinthestandardsofsuchcommittees,isencouraged.Inthisterminologystandard,definitionsoftermsusedinotherASTMstandardsareindicatedbyplacingthedesignationofthatstandardinparenthesesattheendofthedefinition.Definitionsusedbyotherorganizations(seeRefs(5x2013;7))areindicatedsimilarlybyplacinginparenthesesattheendofthedefinitiontheacronymoftheorganization,occasionallywiththedateofitsterminologystandardquoted.Ineithercase,asuperscriptlettermaybeusedtoindicatethedegreeofcorrespondencebetweenthedefinitiongivenhereinandthatinthecitation.SuperscriptAindicatesthatthetwoareidentical;Bthatthegivendefinitionisamodificationofthatcited,withlittledifferenceinessentialmeaning;andCthatthetwodiffersubstantially.Afurtherparentheticalinclusionattheendofthedefinitiongivestherevision,ifafter1981,inwhichthedefinitionwasaddedtothisterminologystandardorlastrevised.Whereappropriate,symbolsoracronymsarelistedfortermsinthisterminologystandard.Sinceusagevaries,theselistingsshouldbeconsideredasrecommendations,notasmandatory.IfadifferentsymboloracronymisusedinanotherASTMstandard,thisshouldbeindicatedinthatstandard.Inthe1990editionofthisterminologystandard,agreatmanytermswererelocatedtoconformtotherecommendationoftheFormandStyleforASTMStandards,(BlueBook)thatlistingsbeinspokenwordorder.Ingeneral,therearenocross-referencesbetweentheoldandnewlistings,exceptwhereaspecialfunctionisserved.Anexampleofsuchaspecialfunctionistolistalltermsrelatingtoagivenbasicquantity,forexample,alltermsdefiningvarioussortsofangles.Thisterminologystandardadoptsthefollowingusageofcertainwordendings.Theendingx201C;ionx201D;denotesaprocess,asinreflection;x201C;ancex201D;denotesapropertyofaspecimen,asinreflectance;andx201C;ityx201D;denotesapropertyofthekindofmaterialofwhichthespecimeniscomposed,asinreflectivity.Exceptionsexist,asinthecommonuseofilluminationandradiationtorefertoquantitiesaswellasprocesses.1.1Thisterminologystandarddefinestermsusedinthedescriptionofappearance,includingbutnotlimitedtocolor,gloss,opacity,scattering,texture,andvisibilityofbothmaterials(ordinary,fluorescent,retroreflective)andlightsources(includingvisualdisplayunits).1.2ItisthepolicyofASTMCommitteeE12onColorandAppearancethatthisterminologystandardincludeimportanttermsanddefinitionsexplicittothescope,whetherornotthetermsarecurrentlyusedi......
